Ω -Galatea

  • 58. “I made you soup… Or at least I tried.”

It’s a freezing day for the ongoing weather of rain to cover all parts of Ponyville. It’s been going that way for an hour or two. Sooner or later, the rain will stop until the clouds clear up for the sun to show.

Comfortably sitting near the fire, Quick is covered by a blanket against his back. Up until he hears Galatea’s voice, he turns to her with a light smile.

"No no, it’s alright. Here, please sit near the fire. I’ll cover you if it’s that chilly."

Galatea sighed softly as she walked towards Quick to lie down next to him by the fireplace. She had tried to make some nice, hot soup so they could have something warm in their bellies, but… Well, for some reason, it just didn’t turn out right; the consistency, the taste, everything was off. Ah, well. Just a reminder to not use that recipe again.

The mare settled herself comfortably next to the stallion, already taking comfort in the warmth of the fire crackling before them. There wasn’t much more they could do, aside from sitting by the fire together and waiting for the storm to pass… And she didn’t mind that at all.

He lies down on his stomach before sharing the blanket over her back. He stayed close beside her with their sides almost touching. It’s best since the blanket might slide off from one of them.

Quick takes in delight from the taste of the soup. He takes a couple sips before turning to Galatea with a light smile. With a sigh to himself, he nuzzles her cheek out of affection. He does it constantly with the eyes closed.

"Warmed up Galatea? I’ll go and get more blankets if you want. Whatever’s best to make things more comfortable." He said with a quiet tone in his voice.

"Is something bothering you?"

Allure shook her head. There was plenty on her mind. All of her expensive items had been taken during the burglary, including personal effects. Even if she was able to sell her remaining stock, there was no way her rent could be paid.

"Not really," she murmured. He had already worried about her enough.

Quick can’t stress this enough of going through possible outcomes by the affects of her shop.  He can’t dwell in without knowing the facts.

"Are you sure?" He asked worriedly. "For what the burglars did, i’m afraid if money will be involved in paying for the damage." He flop his ears down. "So sorry, i’m just concerned for your well-being."

♑ our muses go out for coffee together

Cloud held the mug in her hooves, and took a sip of it, staring up over the steam of the hot drink to her company and gave him a smile.

”So, how have you been doing?” She asked and decided there wasn’t enough sugar in her coffee, taking a sache of sugar from the table and tearing it open, pouring the contents in the drink, stirring it slowly, attention mainly on her companion.

He nodded in acknowledgement before facing towards the pond.

"There wasn’t any neighbors or anypony living near you? It must feel pleasant around that sort of area." He smiles lightly at her.

"Well yes, of course there were other ponies living near us, we lived on the edge of a little village, my dad said he always needed peace and quiet for his work, but I’m not complaining…" The pegasus sighed and ruffled her feathers "But it is pleasant…."

It was silent for a moment and Cloud watched the ducks as they swam about aimlessly and cleared her throat “What about you then? Do you live around here?”

A village? That thought interests him, especially keeping that in mind of another peaceful place along with Ponyville. Quick should find it on a map somehow, but not today. Someday in the near future possibly.

His ears perked up. “U-Um, yes. I live around here.” He tilts his head down before taking a deep breath through his mouth. “Well, i live at the edge of the Everfree Forest. It’s not dangerous unless you decide to venture in deeper.

"Home? What’s it like over there?" He asked out of curiosity.

”I live in Trottingham,” she replied, giving a wings a small flap and stretch “Well, sort of, I travel around more now, but we live in a small house near to open fields and farms, its nice.”

Her mind often wandered back to home and how her parents were doing, she missed those times they’d take long walks over the fields and to the old ruins near the top of the hills with a picnic by their side.

He nodded in acknowledgement before facing towards the pond.

Nothing was much more difficult of visiting his cabin along with some changelings to get his supplies and other important items. It seems nervousness got the better of him of going back with company towards his private home. At least he's done. Right now, he's in his room of a the changeling nest. Specifically, he's sitting on the bed while drawing something out of the ordinary.

The changelings had been keeping an eye on the pony, but true to Chrysalis’s word they were careful with his belongings. Everything that Quick wanted to bring along had been transported, and now he was alone with his things in the cave that would be his room.

Well, almost alone.

"What iss thiss thing?" Mercy asked, still sorting through what they had recovered, She was careful with the items, but the changeling was as curious as a foal.

Quick lifts his head up before squeezing the changeling’s cheeks together with a light smile.

"Adorable little teddy bear." He said to her with a playful, yet quiet tone in his voice.

The hatchling squinted at him, but only answered with a wide yawn that showed her little fangs. The changelings by his sides were apparently already asleep, and Chrysalis seemed content to let them all be for the moment as she watched the more playful group.

The yawn almost made him chuckle in delight. It all payed well as he closes his eyes to sleep comfortably for a moment. He keeps his hooves against the changeling gently, keeping her on his chest to let her sleep there.

Offer Me

Even More Drabbles [x]

Leave a “Offer Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about my character giving yours a gift.

There was no special occasion. Galatea had simply spotted something she thought that Quick would like, and felt almost compelled to buy it with the notion that it might make him happy.

So here she was, having approached him with a small box, somewhat flat and rectangular, perched on her back. Taking it into her hooves, she held it out to him.

"I, um, got this for you. I thought you might like it," she said with a slightly sheepish smile. In all honesty, she wasn’t really sure if she would appreciate this random little gift, but she hoped for the best.

The box contained a small kit of brushes and paints. Having learned that he enjoyed drawing, Galatea had figured that perhaps he would appreciate some more supplies to work with.

Quick wasn’t aware of what he was doing from the moment he hugged her. He felt he should by the immense feeling to do so. Realization brought upon him to make him blush lightly against his cheeks. It feels awkward progressively as he holds her with his head resting on her shoulder.

Redness grew much more from listening to her. She thought of him? That brought the warmth inside his chest to flow throughout. His heart as well, it’s beating faster from that train of thought.

"T-That’s very kind of you. I should repay you with something though. You deserve it for a kind mare you are." He sighs happily before nuzzling at the side of her head.

"No, it’s fine, really," Galatea assured him. "You don’t need to repay me. As long as you’re happy, I am too." She closed her eyes for a brief moment at the nuzzle, nuzzling him in return. "I mean, that’s what friends do, right?"

She froze the moment that word left her mouth: friends. Was that what they were? Friends? Or… something more? Friends got gifts for one another and things like that, right? Even though Galatea had never gone out of her way to do something like that before… But they weren’t exactly dating, were they?

The mare tried her best to ward off the thoughts, but it was just so confusing. Although, while her mind tried to puzzle this out, the only outward sign she showed was the blush already on her face intensifying.

Quick never once had a true friend. This over-joyed him almost immediately through out without showing it from the outside. He tightens the hug before breaking it with a light smile. Something seems off though. The stallion doesn’t know, but has to ask.

"Are you feeling alright there Galatea?"

He’s confused and worried out of the ordinary. It seems everything is perfectly alright from the beginning. Now, it’s starting to get questionable.

☯ (Thunder)

RP Situation Meme: Send me a “☯” and I’ll generate an Rp (Or honestly just send me which one you wanna do) [x]

Thunder: It’s raining outside and my muse is stuck inside with ___ (your character) and when the power goes out they cuddle to keep warm.

Galatea looked out the window as a flash of lightning briefly lit the room. The rain was absolutely pouring down, a relentless torrent that would soak any pony that dared go outside in just seconds. It seemed that she and Quick Shift were stuck inside for the time being.

And it was cold, too. The rain chilled the air to an almost frigid temperature outside, and it was just about the same temperature inside; there was no fire in the fireplace, and unfortunately there was no firewood readily available at the moment.

Galatea was huddled on the couch, shivering slightly from the cold. She didn’t like the cold, but she was also so stubborn as to not admit it or complain about it.

Flowing down his cheeks, some of the tears dripped down to touch against her back. He couldn’t hold all of it with emotions spouting out to reach out of the charts. The stallion almost has difficulty in breathing once in a while in emotionally breaking down literally.

Quick nuzzles back before giving a peck against the side of her head. “If, if you’re ready to talk, i’m all ears, alright? I’m here for you Galatea. You’re not alone. Please remember that.” He said quietly before sniffing from his running nose.

The struggle to keep the tears back was a futile one, especially when she noticed that Quick was also crying - because of her own suffering, he was hurting as well. Another choked sob escaped her as she clenched her eyes shut, as if that would keep her emotions from leaking out.

She didn’t want this. She didn’t want to be some sniveling mess of a mare so easily crippled by her own feelings. But her heart cried out, misery begging to be released.

After a few moments of contemplation, she realized… she had never even brought up Chrome Spirit after the incident. Not even to Ariel or Nano; they were too innocent to bear the knowledge of death yet.

"I…" The words she wanted to say caught in her throat, another fit of tears threatening to burst forth. But she managed to hold them back this time, if only to utter a hesitant question. "Do you… really want to know?"

He sniffs one more time. “Of course.” Quick said in a calm and caring tone.

He desperately wants to know of what caused her to feel this way. In his heart, a slight feeling of relief is there if she’s going to talk about it. It’s very close to wonder out of curiosity.

He takes a deep breath to enjoy the fresh breeze of oxygen in the park. It’s lovely as it is to visit again to look around out of interest again.

"Peaceful? It’s always feels like that doesn’t it?" He sighs happily. "It’s delightful."

”You can say that again..” Cloud sighed and trotted over to the edge of a small pond, watching the small ducks swim about in waters, sitting by its edge and poking the water to make ripples.

”Its nice around here… I, not as nice as home I should think but…” She looked around her again and gave a smile.

He smiles lightly towards the sight of the ducks. Quick groans in discomfort before sitting on the edge of the pond.
